Eppstein Burg Festival

Since 1913, the Burg Festival is staged at Eppstein Castle in the months of June and July. A cast of 280 amateur actors was engaged to playact in a "medieval folk festival" at Eppstein Castle in 1913. The bailey served as the stage and the audience was seated on the embankments of the bower and hall. The 1st Eppstein Burg Festival was conceived. Also 100 years later, the oldest open-air stage in the Rhine-Main region continues to be the romantic backdrop for the Burg Festival each year. Be it modern choreographies, cabaret or children's theatre, the shows are time and again a special experience for the audience.
